Dear Friends,
Pat Schneider, the founder of the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) writing group method, will be in town this week!
If you’ve written in an AWA group/workshop, and if you haven’t, please consider attending this reading. Pat has done amazing work in the United States and abroad through the method, and she’s a fierce advocate for writing as a form of artistic expression available to each and every person who desires to engage in it. She’s able to get out here from Amherst, MA, more rarely these days, so take advantage of this visit!
DETAILS:
Wednesday, June 13, 2012
7:00 pm
Sutter Cancer Center (Buehler building), second floor (across from the main entrance of the hospital at 28th and L streets)
Take the elevator for easiest access. You’ll see the group on the landing after you get off the elevator.
FREE – donations kindly requested, to benefit AWA Sacramento.
Parking is a challenge because of the construction of the new hospital in front of the Cancer Center. You can park in the Sutter lot across 29th Street from the emergency room entrance. You’d walk across the street and enter the hospital, then walk through to the front revolving door. Exit there and walk across the street to the Cancer Center. Or you can find on-street parking, which is free after 6 p.m. Be careful not to park in yellow or white spaces around the hospital–tickets are given until late at night.
A donations jar will be put out, and all donations will go to AWA Sacramento to pay for, among other things, the cost of the website and to help defray costs for Pat’s reading.
