Dearest Writers,
What a fantastic valley we live in, indeed, to have such a delicious selection of upcoming writing conferences! And this is a very short list, focused primarily on Sacramento and environs. Are there others you know of? Send their info my way, and I will be happy to post!
If you will indulge me for a moment, I do wish to draw your attention to this first listing, the Sacramento Poetry Center’s annual Spring Conference, coming right up on Saturday, April 13. I am honored to be leading a short workshop (in the morning segment) and giving a lunch-time reading in very esteemed company. My workshop is open to all genres, as is the conference, though many of the workshops will focus on poetry. I hope you will think about attending–it’s a Saturday that’s intimate and casual, full of hidden gems.
Yours, as always, in writing,
Kate

For Women Writers: Write by the Lake Retreats with Jennifer Basye Sander
Spend the weekend in Lake Tahoe in a quiet room at “Write By the Lake” with other women writers, lots of wine, and wonderful food, hosted by Jennifer Sander, author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Getting Published and some fifty other titles. A former Random House editor and long time book packager and publishing consultant, Jennifer is happy to build a cozy fire and chat all night long about the trials and tribulations of the publishing world.
(Special note: I—Kate—have personally had the pleasure of attending these retreats and highly recommend them to committed writers at any level.)
